Description
The 63rd International Short Film Festival Oberhausen will take place from 11 to 16 May 2017.

Oberhausen is now accepting submissions for the competitions of its 63rd edition. We are looking for works with their own visual language, new angles and forms. For now 62 years, Oberhausen's strength has lain in its willingness to embrace the new, the surprising, the idiosyncratic.

Festival Oberhausen is now accepting submissions for the following competitions:
• International Competition – open to film and digital formats, maximum 35 minutes in length.
• German Competition – open to film and digital formats, maximum 45 minutes in length.
• MuVi Award – open to music videos whose director and/or production company reside in Germany.
• NRW Competition – eligible are works produced in North Rhine-Westphalia.
• Children’s and Youth Film Competition – all suitable entries to the International, German and NRW Competitions will be previewed. A children's jury and a youth jury will select the winners.

The production date for all submissions must be after 1 January 2016.

Entry fees
No entry fees are charged.

Prizes
• International Competition – awards totalling € 25,500
• German Competition – awards totalling € 7,500
• MuVi Award – awards totalling € 3,500
• NRW Competition – awards totalling € 2,250
• Children's and Youth Film Competition – awards totalling € 3,000
