The Calibre Essay Prize 2017

Who may enter
The competition is open to anyone in the world who is writing in English. There is no age limit.

The Calibre Essay Prize is an annual Australian Book Review essay-writing award.

Entries must be a single essay of 3,000 to 7,000 words, written in English. Essays can be on any non-fiction subject.

Online entry is required.

The 2017 judges are Sheila Fitzpatrick, Peter Rose (ABR Editor and CEO), and Geordie Williamson. 

Entry fee
Each entry must be accompanied by an entry fee of AU$25.

The winner will receive AU$5,000
The runner-up will receive AU $2,500
