You may submit a project of picture book for children and young adults. Entries can have any theme, book layout, and illustration technique, with a maximum lenght of 48 pages and a minimum of 16. Entry is free. The winner will receive 150,000 Mexican pesos.
You may submit photographs in any or all of three categories: Nature, People and Cities. The entry fee is US$15 per entry. One grand prize winner will receive $10,000. Two first place winners will receive $2,500.
There are three categories: Fiction, Nonfiction and Poetry. Entry to the contest requires a $24 fee. The winning story, essay, and poems will be published in the Winter 2018-19 issue of Ploughshares, and each writer will receive $2,000
The Alfred Fried Photography Award is open to professional and amateur photographers from anywhere in the world. Entry is free. The winner will receive a cash prize of € 10,000.
The JIA Illustration Award is an annual contest organised by Japan Illustrators' Association. There is no theme. All illustrations must be in JPEG format. The entry fee is 3,700 yen per image. Grand Prix: 300,000 yen.
The competition is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. You may submit only one MANGA containing more than 16 pages. Entry is free. The Gold Award and the Silver Award winners will be invited to Japan to attend the award ceremony.
AcuuWeather and the Royal Meteorological Society are looking for the best photographs from around the world that depict weather in its widest sense. The overall winner will receive £500 cash plus Olympus TG-5 Tough camera. Entry is free.
This year’s theme is “Peace”. Your story can be set anywhere, feature any characters, and be written in any style. The length is 1,500 to 5,000 words. The competition for those 21 and under is free to enter. The competition for the over 21’s costs £10.
