The Organiser of the competition is the Royal Society of Biology in the United Kingdom.

This year's theme is "Transforming Life".

" We invite submissions that explore the profound changes occurring across our planet, highlighting the resilience and adaptability of life in response to environmental changes, human intervention, and scientific innovation.

Each entrant can submit up to three photographs to the competition.

• Photographer of the Year (18 and over): £1,000
• Young Photographer of the Year (under 18): £500
