The competition is open to anyone over the age of 16.

Short description

The competition is organized by The Moth, an international arts and literature magazine, based in Ireland.

“ The Moth Poetry Prize is one of the biggest prizes in the world for a single unpublished poem. The prize is open to anyone, as long as the poem is previously unpublished, and each year it attracts thousands of entries from new and established poets from over 50 countries worldwide.

The poems can be on any subject. There is no line limit.

Entries must be in English.

This year’s judge is Hannah Sullivan. 


Entry fee
The entry fee is 15 € per poem.

Prizes
• 1st prize: 6,000 €
• 3 runner-up prizes of €1,000
• 8 prizes of €250 for commended poems
