Short description

Imagine 2200: Climate Fiction for Future Ancestors, is the climate fiction contest organized by Grist, an American online magazine.

“ Imagine 2200 is an invitation to writers from all over the globe to imagine a future in which solutions to the climate crisis flourish and help bring about radical improvements to our world.

Imagine 2200 celebrates stories that envision the next 180 years of equitable climate progress, imagining intersectional worlds of abundance, adaptation, reform, and hope. Stories must be set between today and the year 2200, in a future that shows the path to a clean, green, just world.

Submissions must be fictional stories between 3,000 and 5,000 words.

Stories must not have been previously published.

Submissions must be written in English.

The competition is free to enter.

Prizes
• 1st prize: US$3,000
• 2nd prize: US$2,000
• 3rd prize: US$1,000
• An additional nine finalists will each receive a US$300 honorarium.
