The Galley Beggar Press Short Story Prize is an annual short story competition open to both published and unpublished writers.The story must be written in English.The cost of entry per submission is £10.The winning author will receive a cash prize of £2000. Shortlisted authors will each receive £200.
Writers are invited to create and submit a short story consisting of 20 paragraphs. Owl Canyon Press provides paragraphs #1 and #20, and the writer creates the other 18 paragraphs.There is no submission fee during the first month of the contest (August) and a $25 fee for the final month of the contest (September).• 1st prize: $1,000• 2nd prize is $750• 3rd prize is $500
The Missouri Review is currently accepting submissions for the 30th Jeffrey E. Smith Editors' Prize.
