The AWP Award Series is open to all authors writing original works in English for adult readers.The entry fee is $30.There are four prizes:• Donald Hall Prize for Poetry: $5,500 and publication• Grace Paley Prize for Short Fiction: $5,500 and publication• AWP Prize for Creative Nonfiction: $2,500 and publication• AWP Prize for the Novel: $2,500 and publication
The International Playwriting Competition welcomes scripts from anyone outside the UK, whether established or new writers. Entrants should write a radio play of approximately fifty three minutes’ length on any subject of their choice.The competition is free to enter.The prize for each of the two winners will consist of £2500 sterling and a trip to London to see the winning play being recorded for broadcast on the BBC World Service.
The Caine Prize for African Writing is a literature prize awarded to an African writer of a short story published in English. 'An African writer’ is taken to mean someone who was born in Africa, or who is a national of an African country, or who has a parent who is African by birth or nationality.Submissions should be made by publishers only.The competition is free to enter.There is a cash prize of £10,000 for the winning author.
